Monna Lisa® can be definitely ranked at the top of the international market of textile digital printers for sampling and production.
Monna Lisa was created thanks to the union of the Como textile experience with Epson’s inkjet technology and provides the modern answer to all the productivity problems related to digital printing on textile fabrics. Monna Lisa is the digital printer manufactured by F.lli Robustelli that used their most innovative mechanical and technical solutions.
The use of Piezoelectric printheads, designed and supplied by Epson and the Genesta inks, studied in collaboration with Epson and distributed by For.Tex, complete the perfect combination of technology and productivity.
The project Monna Lisa and Genesta fits into a forefront context at an international level, that has been developed with the specific aim of ensuring the highest printing quality and mass production.
Nine reactive inks, ten acid inks, eight disperse inks and eight pigment inks are supplied in 1, 3 and 10 liter cartridges, fully exhaustible. The Genesta inks cover a wide and perfectly balanced color range.
Genesta and Pregen pretreatment products with Monna Lisa ensure the highest printing quality, without waste of ink, production downtime and processing waste.
Fabric preparation for printing with Pregen
The fabrics meant for printing, both traditional and digital, must be carefully prepared, that is: without any type of impurity that might compromise printing, well-hydrophilic, flat, straightened and adequately stabilized by size.
In addition to these requirements, the fabric must be treated with all those products that allow:
- Fixation of the color, contained in the ink, to the textile substrate
- Optimize the printing definition
- Facilitate the absorption of ink into the fabric so making the drying easier
- Optimize the intensity of the color
- Optimize the brilliance of the color
Fabric preparation is essential for all the digital printing processes and it is optional for printing with pigment inks.

With all their series, the Genesta inks cover a wide and perfectly balanced color space.
Genesta inks are packed in 1, 3 or 10 liter thermo-sealed multilayer aluminum envelopes that are completely exhaustible and this is a guarantee of absolute reliability and low consumption. Packaging is done with the utmost care and the ink inside them is totally degassed for a perfect printing performance.
The high reliability of the Genesta inks, manufactured by Epson, allows to reduce the washing cycles of the printheads and the consumption is dramatically low.
Each envelope has an identification chip to prevent incidental loading of the wrong ink.
Adhesives for blankets
For a correct digital printing, it is necessary that the blanket has the right degree of adhesiveness.
The blanket of the Monna Lisa printer requires a coating with a permanent adhesive and, for this purpose, the series Atrafix ML was created. These are special solvent-based copolymers (available in 4 kg drums) and their application on the blanket is very easy. It is possible to blend the various adhesives in order to get the best result for each type of fabric.
It is suggested to carry out a periodical cleaning of the blanket using the Atraclean ML solution that allows the removal of the accumulated dirt, thus restoring the initial adhesion.
To redo completely the adhesive, it is necessary to remove totally the old one using the product Adhesolv ML (non-flammable and environmentally friendly solvent).

After printing with acid, reactive and disperse inks, it is necessary a steaming and a washing process (with pigment and sublimation inks these steps are not necessary). Both these processes are critical in achieving a final results, so it is very important to use the right equipment (for steaming and washing) and the right products (in case of the washing step). For.Tex offers a wide range of products to be used in post-treatment of digital prints, from soaping agents to fixing agents to finishing products to increase fastness of prints made with pigment inks.
